" 'And you were not mistaken... And so you saw her?'
" 'Yes, I saw her and spoke to her. But now you must tell me what state you were in when I thought you were dead.'

" 'Good Father, it is certainly because of you that I saw her! When she comes back, consecrate me to her so that she may consecrate me to her Divine Son!'
"The servant of God promised to do so, then he added:
" 'You will get well...'
" 'But when, Father?'
" 'A little later on. Don't ask me so many questions.'
"Then in a gentler tone he added:
" 'With the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Philomena, we know each other very well."
Mlle. Etienette Durie was cured of her cancer while she was in Ars, on August 15, 1840. It was three and a half months after she had seen the Blessed Virgin.
