In a small village in the Tyrol, a region over northern Italy, a carpenter was stacking some wood which he was going to cut. The large pile had eventually grown to a considerable height when, without warning, it toppled over. Horrified, the carpenter watched as the collapsing lumber completely buried his precious little three year old daughter.

The terror stricken man instinctively cried out, “Holy Angel of our child, pray for her!” The wife, too, saw everything, and invoked the child’s Guardian Angel through her tears, “Please, save her!”

Rushing over, they hastily began removing the heavy wood, fully expecting to find their beloved child crushed to death. But their intense grief was transformed into immense joy and gratitude toward their daughter’s Guardian Angel. Not only was the small child still alive - she had not even suffered a scratch!
