Pope St. Pius X (1835-1914) was the holy pope who permitted, and even encouraged, children to receive their first Holy Communion at the age of 7. At that time, they had to wait until they were 10 years old. He also was did much to protect the Church against the errors that evil men were using trying to destroy Her. He wrote a very important encyclical condemning these errors called "Pascendi Dominici Gregis" (on the doctrine of the Modernist). By his heroic efforts the attempts by these Modernists to destroy the faith of hundreds of millions of Roman Catholics were delayed. Jesus worked a number of miracles through Pope St. Pius X to show how pleasing he was to God. For example, once, there was a mother superior of an orphanage in India, who was dying. St. Pius X sent her a telegram with his blessing and when she received the telegram she was cured! Remember to pray to St. Pius X, and all of Heaven, often to help you to become a great Saint too!
