In this very readable book, the author presents various attributes of Mother Mary and shows us how to benefit from Mary and Her powerful and loving assistance. It is first and foremost a spiritual self help guide filled with much practical and useful information to help us grow in virtue and avoid sin and thereby save our souls. Each day also has a true life example of those who were aided by Mary in their struggle to save their soul. On the 31st day he presents a consecration to Mary along with good practical resolutions to help us live this consecration to the delight of Heaven and our own happiness, now and in eternity.

Then he gives brief meditations that cover a span of 31 days, which he recommends are made before the Tabernacle (although, if this is not possible then they can certainly be made anywhere). The only defect is that out of 200 pages total, this copy has 16 pages missing scattered throughout and we have not yet been able to find a complete version. After 30 days of abundant reflections on The Mother of God, he ends with a Consecration to Her as Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament.

The New Month of Mary_KENRICK

As the subtitle explains, this book contains ‘Reflections for each day of the month on the different titles applied to The Holy Mother of God in the Litany of Loretto’. The author utilizes appropriate verses from Sacred Scripture as well as the writings of the Fathers and Doctors of the Church as well as other Saints and recognized theologians to explore the privileges and prerogatives of The Mother of God. Each day includes a Scripture quote, followed by a meditation in three parts, followed by a true story to exemplify the theme of that days meditations. The day is concluded by a prayer, a practical application for ourselves and an aspiration.

In the beginning of this book the author outlines a formal program of prayers and meditations, etc., so that the contents can be followed as a formal spiritual exercise. But it can also be read for profit when and how time permits. This work is intended to increase virtue and conquer vice in individuals by showing the Most Blessed Virgin Mary as the role model of all virtues in creatures and the surest means to attain them for ourselves.
