Since we try to keep as accurate a record as possible of the goals the Crusade has reached, it is important to keep careful track of how many prayers you say. For you see, we will include all the prayers that you send us when and as you send them to us. And for every 5,000 prayers we say, we will unlock a set of Crusader Tokens. And when we reach 25,000 prayers, the participating Crusaders will unlock a Grand Prize!

Perhaps you have noticed the calendar link to the right. If you are interested, you can print off the calendar we have provided there and use it to keep track of the prayers that you have said.

Please remember and make sure to be honest with both us and yourself when counting the number of prayers that you have said. An important characteristic and quality for every knight in this Crusade is honesty. You do no good to the Poor Souls in Purgatory, nor to yourself, when you aren’t honest about how many prayers you have said. Think about this if you get tempted. Not only do you fail them, but you will also add to your own time in Purgatory (if you save your soul) because all of those people you could have released will not be able to help you from Heaven. God’s justice will not permit you to be assisted by those whom you should have helped but did not.

Now while the Crusade is in progress, we have a chart that gives an estimation of how many prayers have been collectively said (visit "How are we doing?"). It is very important to keep track of your prayers as you say them and send us your totals frequently. Once you have sent us a total DO NOT INCLUDE THOSE PRAYERS IN THE FUTURE WHEN YOU SEND IN YOUR NEXT TOTAL. Only include the prayers that you have said since the LAST time you sent us a total.

Do not send in prayer counts of prayers that you plan to say - only the ones that you have said.

When submitting your prayers, you will see that all crusaders are requested to give us their prayer counts in our weekly increments. For example - you can submit totals for prayers you said from Feb 1 - 21 in several different ways. You can do it all at once (Feb 1-21), or break it up into three different submissions ( 1-7, 8 - 14, and 15 -21) or appropriate two segments (for example, Feb 1-7 and Feb 8-21). But please make sure that your prayer counts do not overlap!

For example, you do NOT want to submit Feb 1-14 and then Feb 7-21. So be careful to simply keep track and submit them in the time slots available.

You do not have to let us know every time you have said a new set of prayers. The important thing is to give an honest, accurate count, preferably at least once a month throughout the Crusade.

And if you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to write to me.
