Litanies
A litany is a prayer that usually praises and invokes someone according to their titles. The Blessed Virgin, for example, in the Litany of Loretto is invoked by nearly fifty different titles. Litanies are very pleasing to God and indeed to all of Heaven. God gives much attention to details that we often overlook. In a Litany, we reflect on little aspects of the virtuous lives and characteristics of whomever the Litany is made for. God must be very pleased when we pray a litany, for it is then that we, like Him, give attention to neglected details; those of God, the angels, and the Saints. Heaven is greatly glorified by these simple, but powerful invocations.
