Hope and Protection
During these difficult times, as people face numerous hardships and challenges, it is very important to consciously and completely place ourselves under Heaven’s protection. It is especially in moments of trial that we must turn, in all humility and confidence, to the paternal care, love and wisdom of God. In His burning desire to help us in all our needs, Jesus has given humanity the priceless and most precious gift of His Own Mother as a very powerful means of obtaining His mercy and blessings. There are countless true stories and examples of the special protection given to those who commit themselves to Her care. Please visit our page on Devotions that can Save Your Soul to learn more on the various and powerful ways that you can live your devotion to Mary and the amazing promises attached to such devotions.

While we invite you to practice any one of these devotions, and even several, we would like to encourage everyone, especially in these days, to consecrate (or re-consecrate) themselves, their family and loved ones, etc. to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Again, God has favored this practice with many blessings and even at times incredible miracles. Some of the most impressive of these true stories are when families, dioceses and even entire countries have been spared great temporal evils, including violence, disease and even the ravages of war.

Portugal, for instance, was spared the horrors of World War II, following a public consecration of the entire country to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on May 13, 1931. In a letter written February 6, 1939, Sister Lucy (one of the three visionaries who saw Our Lady at Fatima) explained to Msgr. da Silva (her bishop) that “In this horrible war, Portugal would be spared because of the national consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary made by the bishops.” And in a letter to Pope Pius XII on December 2, 1940, she further explained that “Our Lord promises a special protection to our country in this war, due to the consecration of the nation, by the Portuguese prelates, to the Immaculate Heart of Mary; as proof of the graces that would have been granted to other nations, had they also consecrated themselves to Her.”

Remember that God only allows an evil from which He can bring about a greater good. But we must correspond with His graces. Thankfully, in these recent days - in the very midst of the panic gripping the world - God’s hope and promises still live among us! Below you will find a map of the world, with different countries standing out in color against the gray. Every one of these entire countries have, by the grace of God, recently publicly consecrated themselves to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary (or some other such public commitment to Our Lady and/or Her Son). What a victory for Christ the King and His beloved loving Mother!

And so again, we are encouraging everyone - whether you already have done so in the past or not - to consecrate yourself to both Our Lord and Our Lady, especially Their Sacred and Immaculate Hearts. Consecrate your families as well! When concerned for the safety and welfare of others, realize that there is much that we can do for them! Let us not forget the most advantageous and important security that we can have by placing our loved ones, and even others, into Jesus' and Mary’s care. It is Jesus’ desire to distribute His graces and blessings most generously, but we must give ourselves entirely to Him and His Mother for Them to truly protect us as Their own. So do what you can to help ensure the consecration of your family, your friends, your parish and even your diocese! Let us show God how grateful we are to Him by accepting the priceless gifts that He offers to each one of us in the Loving Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
A Solemn Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Most Holy Virgin Mary, tender Mother of men, to fulfill the desires of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we consecrate this Parish, ourselves and our families to Thy Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart, O Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and we recommend to Thee, all the people of our country and all the world.

Deign accept our consecration, dearest Mother, and use us as Thou wish to accomplish Thy designs in the world.

O Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and Queen of the World, rule over us, together with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, Our King.

Save us from the spreading flood of modern paganism; kindle in our hearts and homes the love of purity, the practice of a virtuous life, an ardent zeal for souls, and a desire to pray the Rosary more faithfully.

We come with confidence to Thee, O Throne of Grace and Mother of Fair Love.

Inflame us with the same Divine Fire which has inflamed Thy Own Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart.

Make our hearts and homes Thy shrine, and through us, make the Heart of Jesus, together with Thy rule, triumph in every heart and home.

Amen.

Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart

Adorable Jesus! My Savior and my God! Humbly prostrate in Your presence, I consecrate myself to Your Sacred Heart, in thanksgiving for all the benefits that You have bestowed upon mankind, and particularly for the inestimable grace that You have given to us by dwelling among us in the Blessed Sacrament on our altars.

I consecrate myself, also, to Your adorable Heart, in order to repair as much as in my power the outrages that have been committed against You, or that will be committed to the end of the world. I desire in the future to perform all my actions in this spirit of gratitude and reparation.

Receive, O Sacred Heart, all my thoughts, my desires, my liberty, my memory, my will, my actions, my life! Receive my sufferings and my trials. I give myself to You now and forever. In this same spirit, I offer You everyone and everything ever to satisfy Your infinite love and desires!

Lord, every moment of my life belongs to You; all my actions are Yours. Permit not that anything
should stain them that would make them unworthy of Your Heart, but grant that I may begin, continue, and finish them by Your grace, and solely with the view of pleasing and serving You by them.

For this end, Jesus, I unite all of my actions with Yours, and I desire to enter into the holy and divine intentions with which Your Sacred Heart is animated. O my Jesus! Reign over me completely. May I depend entirely on You, and may my sole care be to imitate Your adorable and loving Heart, in which I find a perfect model and source of all sanctity, my strength and my repose, my consolation and my hope. Amen.
