Jairus' daughter
There was a great crowd about Jesus, and one of which, being a ruler of the Synagogue, was named Jairus. When he saw Jesus he fell down at Jesus’ feet and said, “My daughter is at the point of death, come, lay your hand upon her that she may be safe, and live.” Jesus then went with Jairus, and the crowd followed Him and pressed around Him. There was a woman nearby who had suffered from an issue of blood for 12 years. She had suffered many treatments from several doctors that only made her problem worse. She saw Jesus and went into the crowds after Him seeking to touch His clothes for she said to herself, “If I can touch just His garment, I shall be healed.” When she touched His garment she felt that the streaming of blood from her had stopped and she was completely healed. Jesus though, immediately knew that power had come out of Him and turned to the pressing crowd and asked, “Who has touched My garments?” His disciples hearing this asked Him, “Master, you see the crowd swarming about you, and you ask, who has touched me?” But Jesus looked around in the crowd for one who did. The woman was afraid and trembled for she knew what had happened to her and she fell down before Jesus and told Him the truth. Jesus said to the woman, “Daughter, your faith has healed you: go in peace, and be healed of your disease.” While this was happening, a person of Jairus’ house came and told Jairus, “Your daughter is dead; why do you trouble the master any more?”
There is something that one can learn from this certain incident, and that is the virtue of faith. The woman in the story shows to us that there is no such thing as too little faith. But is it true that she just had to touch something to be healed? Not exactly. The reason that she was healed is because she had so much faith in Jesus that she believed that all she had to do was touch Jesus’ clothes to be healed. Jesus wants this kind of faith. Once the apostles asked Jesus to increase their faith. He replied saying, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you might say to this mulberry tree, be rooted up and be transplanted into the sea: and it would obey you” - St. Luke 17:7-6. What is there to doubt in Jesus then? The woman in the story had faith bigger than a mustard seed, and she was healed. If we have true faith as small as a mustard seed, that is all Jesus needs in order to help us - the faith of Jairus. Asking Jesus to help him and saying that all Jesus had to do was lay hands on his daughter in order to save her. Truly Jesus loves this kind of faith, for He did heal both the woman and the girl.

But Jesus heard this and said to Jairus, “Fear not, only believe.” And He took with Him Peter, James and John and told the others to stay and wait. Jesus went into Jairus’ house and saw many people there crying over the death of Jairus' 12 year old daughter. Jesus asked the people, “Why do you make all this fuss, and mourn? The girl is not dead but sleeps.” The people there laughed at Jesus. Jesus then told them to leave, and took the girl’s father and mother and His three apostles that He brought and went into the girl’s room. Jesus took the girl by the hand and said, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” Immediately the girl rose up and walked. The apostles and the parents of the child were greatly astonished. Jesus told them not to tell anyone and commanded that something be given to her to eat. - St. Mark 8:22-43
